Even though we initially wanted to enable at least a limited number of people to attend this year's general meeting of ZukunftsRegion Westpfalz e.V., we now had to switch to a complete online event with live transmission from the Pirmasens festival hall. Only the organization team and speakers were present on site. Fortunately, the unusual circumstances did not interrupt the smooth running of the meeting. The online voting, in particular the election of the new Executive Board for the 2020-2022 term of office, went smoothly. We welcome Jutta Metzler (G&M Systemtechnik GmbH) and Markus Zwick (Head Mayor of Pirmasens) as successors to the two departing members of the Management Board Sandra Heckenberger and Dr. Berhard Matheis. The other eight members of the ten-member board stood for re-election.

The public part of the general meeting, which could be followed by all interested parties in the livestream on Facebook and YouTube, was opened by Albrecht Hornbach, President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Palatinate, with a keynote speech. ZRW Managing Director Dr. Hans-Günther Clev then went into detail about a number of current projects of the association. Looking ahead to the coming year, the Chairman of the Board of Management, Dr. Jürgen Adam, was even a little relieved that the tenth anniversary of the association was not due until 2022 and not already in the coming year - coupled with the hope that this could then be celebrated again in an appropriate setting.
