The Kaiserslautern economic region is increasingly shaped by internationally-operating businesses and research institutes. Numerous international skilled workers and managers are employed there and near the NATO base in Ramstein. Many times, they have stated that they wanted an international school close by, where the children are taught in English and can receive an international diploma.
An international school is becoming an increasingly important location factor for recruiting skilled workers and when companies from abroad are choosing a location. For this reason, ZRW has taken up the issue with the City of Kaiserslautern and has been pushing the creation of an international school in Kaiserslautern or the surrounding area.
The International School Kaiserslautern will offer a high-quality English-German program for children and youth between the ages of four and 18 and allow for diplomas in accordance with the Cambridge standard. The Swiss Seelab AG, which is already responsible for the international school in Neustadt, has been found as a possible operator.
One of the surveys carried out by ZRW illustrates the great demand in the Kaiserslautern area and is now serving as the basis for the investor's economic evaluations. The next great challenge is the search for an appropriate space. This is the responsibility of the operator.
