The Kaiserslautern economic area is increasingly characterized by internationally operating companies and research institutions. Numerous international specialists and executives are employed there and in the vicinity of the NATO base Ramstein. For them, the existence of an international school (with classes in English and an international degree) is an important factor in the choice of location.
Together with the city of Kaiserslautern, we took the initiative in 2014 to establish an international school in Kaiserslautern or its immediate surroundings.
A survey we conducted highlighted the great demand in the Kaiserslautern area and served as the basis for winning the Schweitzer Seelab AG as operator. This company is also responsible for the International School in Neustadt a.d. Weinstraße.
After a lengthy process of finding a location, the International School West Palatinate started schooling up to grade 6 in Ramstein-Miesenbach in August 2017. Due to the strong growth and demand for a secondary school, the International School Westpfalz opened a second campus in summer 2020 in Landstuhl for the higher grades, just a few kilometres south of Ramstein-Miesenbach.Further information can be found here.
