A region and its people
"Openness, internationality, creativity and progress are in our nature." This motto should make it clear what people in the West Palatinate are all about. Shaped by their love of nature, but always open to something new.
Our hallmarks are warm-heartedness and conviviality. Here, strangers quickly become friends. Anyone who comes here quickly feels at home. But beware: we're open about what we think - even if we don't like something.
Whether it is locals or people from abroad, people's openness is an important comfort factor for new arrivals. Due to the constant inflow and outflow, the people living in West Palatinate have become increasingly advanced, whether or not they have travelled far from home. Today, the largest English-speaking community in Germany is at home here. But it is not just the numerous US Americans, but also people from around 140 countries, who provide diversity and enrich our lives together.
Prosperity did not come into being here through natural resources, but rather through hard work and ideas. Destruction and economic upheavals compelled us to new beginnings time and again. Resting on our laurels is a strange idea to us, because we have learned that nothing lasts forever. Honest work, audacity, and good ideas get us further ahead. That has been the case up to today.
