[Vocatium West Palatinate]
vocational training fair
The successful transition from school to university studies or vocational training in the regional job market is crucial for ensuring that skilled workers are available in the West Palatinate. At the end of school, many young people have to make difficult decisions considering the variety of possibilities for vocational training or studies. Job and vocational training fairs can help young people to gain an overview of the offerings and make initial contacts – they offer the companies the chance to present themselves as attractive employers.
In 2013, the ZRW was able to convince the Institut für Talententwicklung [Institute for Talent Development] in Berlin to include the West Palatinate in its nation-wide fair program. At the end of May 2014, the first Vocatium Westpfalz vocational training fair took place. A special aspect of the fair concept is the direct contact with schools in the run-up to the fair and that there are confirmed advising appointments for youths and exhibitors. The Vocatium makes in-depth contact with a manageable number of exhibitors possible and is therefore a sensible addition to the - significantly larger - "vocational training exchange" on Betzenberg mountain.
After the successful premiere in 2014, the fair took place for the second time on 27-28 May 2015. The ZRW was present with a stand and, together with the Agentur für Arbeit [Federal Employment Agency], provided information on the job chances in the region. After the successful establishment of the event, ZRW's role in the project is complete.
